Here is the first draft of my podcast... let me know what you think.  It is about 50 seconds right now.
What would you like me to add?  remove?  clarify?
Thanks!

As part of a class project on local history students are working in small groups and researching local people from the past or the present and exploring how one person's idea can change history. For example, William Upjohn is is famous for developing the pill form of medication by creating a "friable" pill that could be easily crushed. He received a patent in 1885 for this type of pill and changed how medication is taken. Upjohn also created the Upjohn company which is now know as Upjohn pharmaceuticals.
During this week-long project, students will use the internet and a hot-list to do their research and then create a power-point to share their famous person with the rest of the class.

  1. Looks good! Are you going to tie in something from the text for this as well? I think I'm going to talk about my lesson on having students learning to research like historians. Since your project is a longer one, and mine is just a day or two... That will show some variety as to what kind of projects we're going. I plan to do my first draft tomorrow.
