Okay, for this week we each have to create a lesson plan with several different pieces.  I guess one of the first things that we need to decide is the "big idea" of our project.  We know local history and compare/contrast with kids in Australia, but what is our end goal?  It seems that our lesson plans need to have a direction to head in.  I am kind of confused about this... since we have to use google maps, maybe a lesson plan can be about mapreading skills?   Or geography? 
We haven't identified a time frame of history.. are we going to do that? or ask the students to choose from different time frames?  Could creating a timeline of history of the area be a lesson plan? 
What do you guys think?  I'm liking working on a timeline lesson...
